“UNCOMMON KNOWLEDGE” – By Des Kelly

[ad_1]

I have always believed that “reading” is an education in itself. One can always end up in the most Senior Classes in School or College, enter top Universities around the planet, become Professors on various subjects and have Intelligence Quotas that hit the roof, yet still not know what is happening in this World of ours.

This being the case, it comes back to the fact that when something of this nature comes to us on the Internet, we READ & recoil in the sheer wonder of it all. It feels good to be able to share the knowledge with many thousands of people, in my case, especially with the members and readers of eLanka, a website that I am very happy & proud to be part of. Have to admit that I knew nothing of the subjects covered by this very interesting post, sent to me by Maxwell Gerreyn, a dear friend from Perth W.A.

I BET YOU DON’T KNOW THESE THINGS

I BET YOU DON'T KNOW THESE THINGS

In 2012, an ‘eco-bridge’ was built in Northern Ontario – Killarney.

On a stretch of un-opened highway just north of Killarney,

there’s an overpass with images of deer and moose sculpted into the side.

It was built by the Ministry of Transportation to keep animals off a section of Highway 69

that sees more collisions with animals than average. (Kari Gunson)
