Floating Mountain Villa is in the Glenloch Estate in Katukithula, Nuwaraheliya district Sri Lanka between the bustling hillsides of Kandy and Nuwaraheliya that is just an hour drive from both places. It is about four and a half hours drive from Colombo (159kms).
Nestled in the Nuwara-Eliya Hills and situated in the quaint and scenic town of Ramboda, this historic property was part of the Glenloch Tea Estate Group, first established in 1917. The original villa has been carefully restored to stay true to its colonial origins with all modern amenities to cater to the 21st-century traveller.
About the location:
3,700 feet above the ground, tranquillity reigns supreme in the Floating Mountain Villa. It is an ideal retreat for you to reconnect with yourself and leave your other worries right outside your door. There are a few hiking trails nearby. Other notable places you can explore near here are – Ramboda falls, Peacock Hills, Ambuluwawa Tower, Kotmale reservoir and Kandy.

ABOUT THE OWNER:
Ms Gowri Ganesan, a lawyer by profession who practised in the UK, is the owner of this incredible mountain villa. She was in search of a holiday home when she stumbled upon this villa. When Gowri visited the property, she was spellbound by the beautiful scenery and the tranquillity it provided. Excited, she then explored the surrounding area and was again mesmerised by the Scottish architecture of the property. Gowri immediately decided to buy the property for her personal use and started renovating it. Although the property was initially not intended for business, Gowri felt that it was too serene and scenic, so she decided to share it with others. Considering her own fabulous experience here, Gowri gave this retreat to cater to the needs of people living abroad.
